As summer comes to a close and the fall equinox approaches, we are reminded of the transition from light to dark, warmth to cool.


This is a time to reflect on the summer months and to carry the light and warmth of the season with us as we move forward.


Just as nature begins to shift, we too can draw on the energy of the sun-filled days and make it a part of ourselves.


In a world that often feels overwhelming, with global events beyond our control, it’s easy to lose touch with our inner peace. But no matter what happens around us, there is a place within where stillness resides.


This is a space of total calm, where we can find balance and clarity. In our journey we have found that by staying connected to this part of ourselves helps us navigate the challenges of life with grace and serenity.


Music is one of the most powerful ways to reach this place of peace.


The music we are dedicated to creating is designed to help you reconnect with the earth and the deepest parts of your being. We believe that in listening, you can find a sense of grounding and harmony that the world sometimes lacks.


We are pleased to share our new song "Light on the Water" with you!


We explored some new instrument pairings in this song by combining the serene bell-like tones of the Rhodes electric piano with beautiful Spanish guitar melodies. The music evokes the peaceful image of sunlight on water as it sparkles in the sun.

As the vibrant days of summer continue, we find ourselves immersed in the abundance and warmth this season offers.


Each day presents a new opportunity to embrace the beauty around us and deepen our connection to our inner selves.


Summer is a reminder to keep our hearts open to joy and celebration, even amidst the ups and downs of daily life. It is possible to seek the beauty and magic in every moment.


By cultivating an open heart, we allow ourselves to experience the full spectrum of life’s wonders, finding joy in the simplest of things.


In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook the small miracles that surround us. Yet, when we slow down and pay attention, we can find beauty and magic in every moment.


We are excited to share that our new song, "Cloud-Land in the West," will be released on August 7th.


On this song we blend Native flutes, ethnic instruments and ambient meditation music to create a serene atmosphere.


The song also features our new custom-made copper flute that adds a distinctive, organic element, enhancing the soothing interplay of sounds. Embark on an auditory escape that evokes the calm and majesty of a desert horizon painted with clouds.

Finding your Calm Spirit

 

Dear Gordon Brothers Tribe,


Each season brings its own unique energy and lessons, and this summer is no different.


It is a time to reconnect with our inner selves, to find peace in the simplicity of being, and to cultivate mindfulness in every breath we take.


In our fast-paced world, finding inner peace can feel elusive. However, it is within reach for all of us.


By practicing mindfulness, meditation, and gratitude, we create a sanctuary of calm within our hearts.


Peace is not the absence of challenges, but the presence of a calm spirit amidst them. As we nurture this inner peace, we benefit ourselves and radiate positive energy to those around us.


We are excited to share that our new song, "Echoes of Sacred Serenity," will be released on July 10th.


This song features Native American Flute, custom Copper flute, acoustic guitar and ambient atmospheres. We hope it will resonate deeply with you and invite you to experience a moment of tranquility and connection.

But the journey doesn’t stop there. We are thrilled to announce that we will be releasing one new song each month from our upcoming album, "Thankful." This way, you won’t have to wait until the full-length album is released to enjoy our new music.

Positive Expectancy + New Music and playlists!

 

Dear Gordon Brothers Tribe,


As the year unfolds and Spring has arrived, we are feeling very grateful.


We have been noticing how important it can be to keep focused on our own state of mind and not just external events.


The only thing we can ever really be in control of is our own mood, or state of consciousness.


It’s so easy to start to be dependent on things going well to be happy.


We have found it’s much better to focus on how we feel and cultivating a high vibration of positive expectancy.


As we do that, we put out positive energy to the world. It feels better and for some reason, it always seems like good things happen more often that way.


Since last month’s newsletter, we’ve been busy in the studio recording the rest of the songs for our next album, Thankful.


We now have all the rest of the songs close to done.


We’ve decided that each time we finish a song we’ll release it right away.


So you’ll be able to hear the new songs at the soonest possible moment!


This set of songs has many elements we are known for such as Native American Flute, acoustic guitar and piano, spacious ambient synthesizers and world instruments.


But you’ll also be surprised at some new elements in these songs as well.

As we write this, today is the first day of Spring and it really feels great.


This time of year during the return of the light, as things are getting warmer and plants are starting to grow again, we’re feeling a renewed sense of hope and happiness.


The cycle of the sun and the earth are like a promise of renewal that is fulfilled every year.


It’s now been about a month since our new release Along the Beauty Way came out.


We worked on recording this all during the fall and we hope it is helping your life feel more connected to the earth and sky.

In creating these new songs, we focused on our unique musical connection as brothers who have composed music together for many years.


The songs were creating in our studio by playing guitar, flute and piano together and then allowing the music to guide us.


By combining these instruments with ambient textures of keyboards, other instruments and ethnic sounds, we created a soothing soundscape that evokes the spaciousness and serenity of the desert southwest.

[Oct 2023] New Release + New Playlists!

 

Dear Gordon Brothers Tribe,


We are so grateful for how music filled 2023 is turning out to be.

In July we released our two song single The Earth Under Sky, and the response has been phenomenal!


Then in August we released a 5 song EP compilation called Reiki Radiance - Music for Meditation, Sleep & Yoga.


This compilation features two other Sequoia artists, Karmacosmic and Reiki master Shajan.


We also have four new songs that are almost completed. These will be on our next release, Along the Beauty Way.


This new music will be released in January to start the new year with peaceful energy.


The songs feature Native Anerican Flute, Guitar and Piano along with soothing soundscapes of keyboards and even the lovely sound of Cello.


We are currently mixing these four new songs and they are blessing us with so much peaceful inspiration!

This playlist is a collection of acoustic Piano and Guitar songs that have only been released on Sequoia compilations so far. This coming Spring we will be releasing these on their own album for the first time. That album will also include 4 brand new Piano and Guitar duets! For this playlist we combined these songs with some of our favorite solo piano songs from our fellow Sequoia artist, Gary Stadler.

Relax into Inner Peace

We teamed up two of our favorite Sequoia Records artists, Shajan and Karmacosmic to create set of deeply calming songs for you.

Trusting Unfoldment + New Music News!

 

Dear Sequoia Records Tribe,


As the season turns to Spring, we are aware of how change in our personal lives can be similar to the change from Winter to Spring.


Some years the sun and warmer temperatures of Spring can arrive quickly.But in other years, Spring can be delayed and we have to wait during a time of more Winter like weather.


We never question this because we know it is way for nature, and the way of things.


But in our personal lives, when things we have been waiting for don’t happen quickly, we can feel that something is wrong.


This moves us into a a state of unhappiness and away from feelings of gratitude and joy.


Instead of trusting in how the universe unfolds for us, we question our path and waste energy reconsidering it.


It is at these times that we are called to trust in the universe and in our path.


You’ll find that when you do that, you become aware of what you are grateful for in your life and in the world around you.


Happiness will come even during the time you are waiting for your desired change.


When we compose our music, we are taken to that place of serenity and feeling at peace with what is.


Right now we are finishing up the songs that will be on our new 2-song single that will be coming out in June.


Then in July we will be releasing our new EP called Reiki Radiance - Music for Meditation, Sleep and Yoga.


We are very happy to be recording for the first time in Steve’s new studio.
